FAQ

We get it, you've got questions! Well we have the answers to the most common ones that are asked. If you have a question that is not listed below we encourage you to please reach out.

  • What is the age range for children in the forest and nature school?
Wild Fauna Nature Play offers forest and nature programs for children aged 2.5- 13, focusing on play, exploration, and connection with nature. The younger children aged 2.5 - 6 are put into our "preschool" group. Our older children aged 6 - 13 are grouped into their own forest and nature group. This way the children are able to do age appropriate activities and play with children their own age. This also helps us address the children's needs and wants throughout the time we are together easier.
  • What are your operating hours?
    Full Day Programs - 9:00am - 3:00pm. Half Day AM programs - 9:00am - 12:00pm Half Day PM programs - 12:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Can parents attend the forest and nature school sessions?
Unfortunately, no. As much as we know that parents want to stay we want to give the children the opportunity to be without their parents and give their parents a break! We do occasionally run a Fawn and Deer program for children 18months - 4 years old. Where parents are required to stay with their little ones. If that is something that would interest you please reach out. https://www.wildfaunanatureplay.com/programs/weeklyprograms/fawnanddeer
  • What activities are included in the forest and nature school?
Here is a sample of the types of activities that we plan: • How we respect the land we are on • Playing safely in the forest • Nature Journaling • Indigenous roots of the land education • Team building skills • Plant/animal tracks identification • Our bodies consent/boundaries • Changes and benefits to the seasons • Cooking on the fire Children will be grouped by age at different times throughout the day, allowing opportunities to explore and learn both together and in age-specific groups for developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Where is your forest and nature school?
We are located at Domaine Labrador in Clarence Creek, ON. A beautiful nature oasis with privacy, forest, streams and our own cabin for shelter. Here is a link for directions: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vs3UZLtzYSCjYieNA

We want to acknowledge that we play, learn & explore on the stolen lands and unceeded Anishinabewaki territory of the Anishinaabe people; and the lands of the Omamiwininiwag (Algonquin) people and Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) people of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of six nations.

We offer an inclusive space by honoring everyone’s unique being, their race, their individual beliefs, language, religion & gender identities & fluidities. We honor our human peer’s pronouns and consistently respect & use them. We extend love to all our living relations by fully respecting all individual needs without judgment.
