Who we are:

Wild Fauna Nature Play provides nature-rooted outdoor programs all year-round. Our mission is to provide enriching, child-led, educational learning programs - through play in the outdoors - to the children, youth & families of the Clarence-Rockland and Ottawa East-End community.

Wild Fauna proudly offers an inclusive space, by honoring everyone’s unique being, their race, their individual beliefs, language, religion & gender identities & fluidities. We honor our human peer’s pronouns and consistently respect & use them. We extend love to all our living relations by fully respecting all individual needs without judgment.

We explore the land with curiosity and wonder. We navigate skills that help build self-esteem, confidence, patience, and focus. Through curiosity, questioning, appropriate levels of risky-play, problem solving, practice and mishaps, children then build a deep relationship & trust within themselves, with their peers, and with the land.

Decades of studies have shown that spending consistent time outdoors benefits people immensely!! Doctors even prescribe time in nature as part of a patient's support to their health, through the PaRx program. And we, at Wild Fauna Nature Play, design our programs with this principle in mind. We believe it should start at a young age so that this practice becomes instilled.
